Farm style breakfast in the Manor House
Sipping an excellent cappuccino with your loved one can be the perfect start to your romantic weekend. Our lovely hot and cold breakfast can be enjoyed in our Manor House, surrounded by magnificent antiques.
A morning stroll through the vineyards
After breakfast, we recommend taking a leisurely stroll through our lush gardens, orchards and vineyards. There is so much natural beauty to be seen on our property and there is no time quite as peaceful as the morning hours.
Picnic for two on the Oak lawns
Our Manor House overlooks our picturesque Oak lawns, where you can enjoy a picnic for two underneath the heavenly shade of our stately oak trees. We offer a delectable picnic basket in which our Chef has prepared a lovely range of dishes to suite the summer palate; including: a charcuterie platter, a meze platter, a caprese salad, a vegetable wrap, roast beef sandwich and a chocolate brownie for dessert. Of course, the picnic would be remiss without some wine, therefore we throw in a bottle of our Hawksmoor Rosé on the house.

Once you have tasted some of our tantalising wine on your picnic, we guarantee that you’ll be craving more. We suggest trying our Hawksmoor House Sauvignon Blanc whilst you relax on the stoep and watch the beautiful sunset and its magical reflections over the pond.

You might be craving a change in scenery for your second breakfast of the weekend; we are happy to accommodate you by serving your breakfast selection on the stoep. This way you can take in the magnificent views of the winelands and the mountains whilst enjoying your morning croissant.
Wine tasting at Hawksmoor House
Get the authentic winelands experience without having to leave the property! You and your partner can enjoy a tasting of 6 Hawksmoor House wines for only R30 each. Our wines are made solely from grapes grown and harvested at Matjieskuil Farm, therefore you can enjoy a liquid twist on the farm to table dining concept.
Lunch at the Fat Butcher
Travel 15 minutes into the historic town of Stellenbosch to enjoy an exquisite meal at the Fat Butcher. Famously known amongst locals as being the best steakhouse in Stellenbosch, we highly recommend trying any of their steak options. As well as having chic décor for you to enjoy whilst you wait for your food.
Explore the Stellenbosch Botanical Gardens
Right around the corner from the Fat Butcher are the gorgeous Botanical Gardens. Relax on the grass or walk through the charming gardens and soak up the quaint oasis surrounding you.
Hot air Balloon ride at sunset
Make your way back to Hawksmoor House for a life changing hot air balloon ride over the winelands. Bring a bottle of our MCC with you and pop it open as you watch the sunset sprawl over the ocean and cityscape. Take in the awe-inspiring views with your partner and reminisce over the lovely weekend that you enjoyed.
